Well I haven't done much photography since we moved here. Inspiration on poetry is pretty slim as well. I probably could have written some good stuff when we first got to Colorado because I hated it so much. I'm starting to get the hang of it now. It's beautiful, but SO different from Texas. I never realized how true it is when people say Texas is like it's own country. What's wrong with Colorado? The God damned hippies. Everyone rides a bike or drives a Toyota Prius hybrid in a failed and pathetic attempt to save the planet. Pardon me. I'm from Texas. We burn dinosaurs all day long. Oh and recycling. People get angry with you if you don't recycle. It's expensive. VERY expensive. There are spiders. More than Texas I dare to say. More tornadoes as well. I moved here for 5 main reasons.

1. Less spiders (WRONG)
2. Less tornadoes (WRONG)
3. To get far away from certain relatives (WRONG)
4. It's the previous home of my idol Hunter S. Thompson
(I found out that his wife was speaking at a book store on Gonzo journalism in February. The problem? I found out in March.
5. My husband
So basically the only valid reason left is my husband. Good reason.

Oh. Terrifying news.

I'm going to be a mother. Right about now everyone is saying "Umm....what?"

Yeah. My thoughts exactly. Already it seems that each day the world tries to do one of two things. 1)Make me cry 2)Make me want to rip someones head off or the occasional option 3 which is make me bent on world domination. If I ruled the world I would start with one new law. Men are now officially in charge of having children and the other wonderful perks that go along with bearing children. What is the alternative you may ask? Be my slave.

Oh. Colorado is strange for another reason. Back home 75% of my friends were male. It's just how I've been. I never got along with girls well. How many guy friends do I have here? One. But I must say he's been the best guy friend I've had in my 22 years alive.

I do miss home. A lot. Won't ever stop. We'll see how this little roller coaster ends.
